In addition to presenting over 50 films from around the world, the Festival hosts several parties and special events. Everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities...it's a wonderful opportunity to interact with filmmakers and meet other festival goers like yourself.

The "Breakfast With..." series offers intimate gatherings with filmmakers, actors and film industry professionals as they discuss behind-the-scenes aspects of independent filmmaking.

Shorts filmmakers Tom Gustafson (Revelations, Were the World Mine) and Jane Clark (Beyond Words) and moderator Basil Tsiokos (NewFest and Sundance Film Festivals) and others discussed the joys and challenges of producing gay and lesbian-themed short films, and the exhibition and screening options available in the festival circuit and beyond.
With recent box office hits like Slumdog Millionaire and Pan's Labyrinth, are U.S. audiences more amenable to subtitles and foreign-language films at their local cinema? Sebastian Silva (director of The Maid), Steven Raphael (President, Required Viewing, exhibition consultant for The Maid and Patrik, Age 1.5) and Marcus Hu (Co-President, Strand Releasing, distributor of The Headless Woman), among others, discussed the current climate for finding audiences for foreign-language films in the U.S. today.
Allesandro Nivola (Love's Labour's Lost, Laurel Canyon, A Month in the Country) and Jay DiPietro discussed the art of acting and directing on stage and screen. DiPietro's film, Peter and Vandy, which he adapted from his own hit play, was the closing night selection at this year's Provincetown Film Festival.
Andy Bichlbaum, half of the notorious and mischievous duo "The Yes Men," will filled us in on some behind-the-scenes antics that went into the making of The Yes Men's newest film - where they once again infiltrate corporate events and expose more than a few skeletons in those closets.
We honored our Lifetime Achievement award winner, STRAND RELEASING by screening PSYCHO BEACH PARTY with Charles Busch. A unique Cape Cod treat and Film Festival tradition.
A very special evening in which we saluted the distinctive career of the Filmmaker on the Edge (TBD).
A screening of MISUNDERSTOOD was followed by the Y&D panel. The panel featured two of the screenwriters of MISUNDERSTOOD, its director Clark Johnson, and Ernestine Heldring, Scenarios USA Education and Outreach Manager.
Last summer's happiest movie was the 2009 festival's sure-fire sing-a-long hit.
The close of the Festival and the winners of the HBO Audience Awards. Celebrants enjoyed a Taste of Provincetown cuisine and great cocktails under the stars by the bay. A Taste of Provincetown food was donated by Bayside Betsy's, Bubala's, Lobster Pot, Napi's, Patio, Victor's and Ben & Jerry's Eastham.
