PROVINCETOWN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - 15TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BEGINS WEDNESDAY

Tuesday, June 18, 2013 (PROVINCETOWN, MA) -- The 15th anniversary of the Provincetown International Film Festival (PIFF) commences tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19th and runs through Sunday, June 23rd.
Filmmakers John Waters, Todd Haynes, Mary Harron, Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman, James Ponsoldt, Jeffrey Schwartz and Christine Vachon are among the many filmmakers/talent attending the festival this year.
And as previously announced, Harmony Korine will receive the Filmmaker on The Edge Award (sponsored by the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation); Matt Dillon (DRUGSTORE COWBOY, TO DIE FOR, THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY), will receive the Excellence in Acting Award (sponsored by American Express); Cinematographer Ed Lachman (TRUE STORIES, FAR FROM HEAVEN, ERIN BROCKOVICH) will receive the Faith Hubley Career Achievement Award (sponsored by the MALLRD Foundation).
The Opening Night Film is LOVELACE; the closing night film is EMANUEL AND THE TRUTH ABOUT FISHES; the Friday Night Spotlight selection is I AM DIVINE; the Saturday Night Spotlight Selection is I’M SO EXCITED!
The Festival will close on June 23rd with an evening block party for the town and all festival goers where the presentation of the HBO Audience Awards will be given out. The event will be produced by Rafanelli Events of Boston, New York, DC and Palm Beach.
